Survivors Help Each Other
We are a grass roots organization prepared to consult with any community interested in developing a system of horse ranches to help their victims of childhood abuse.
Our first permanent horse facility is a regional horse & dog intake center. All the animals given to us for adoption come to our primary facility for evaluation and quarantine. After the initial quarantine period is finished, we train all our horses to work in a variety of settings.
Most horses come to us with behavioral problems. These problems are corrected at our primary training facility. Once the problems are identified, we transform the horse into a working partner. The process has ranged from a few weeks to six months. Our horses are integrated into the group once they are capable of four distinct speeds. In addition, they must load on a horse trailer, work comfortably in a variety of settings, and capable of working at least four hours a day. Our dogs provide affection and protection. A dog rides along with anyone taking a horse out on our ranch. We are training our dogs to locate people in wooded areas in the New Year.
We expect to support a series of small personal ranches dispersed throughout the community from our primary ranch. We are seeking the assistance of animal lovers willing to allow children with a background of childhood abuse on their property. These ranches will provide a support system in our client’s neighborhood.
None of our facilities will advertise the location of our ranches. We are seeking a positive, secure, and stable series of ranches for our clients to enjoy our horses. We look forward to working with interested property owners. Contact us if you are interested in offering your horse facility for our clients.
