In 2003, Dennis Horion had a vision for a non-profit organization where he could rescue and rehabilitate horses to provide equine therapy to trauma victims, especially children. Dennis is an expert horse rider and horseman. He has accompanied thousands of riders on our scenic horse ranch. In addition to being open to the public for horse riding tours, Dennis advocates for children seeking justice against their abusers.

Dennis works day in and day out to see that the horses he’s rescued and others that have been donated are well fed, maintained, and happy. Some came to the ranch with behavioral problems and have had to be re-trained to overcome their bad behavior. Others have been donated. Although Adopt-A-Horse, Inc. has lost a few horses along the way to old age, theft, or vandalism, Dennis never gives up.

Dennis is an excellent horseback riding instructor, advocate for victim’s safety and rights, and all round good guy. If you’re looking for a way to give back to your community, think about learning to ride a horse under Dennis’ instruction, or if horse riding is not your cup of tea, Adopt-A-Horse, Inc. also accepts donations (yes, they are tax deductible) and in kind contributions such as feed, supplies or horse equipment.
