Coral was involved in a minor traffic accident. The other driver received a citation for her role in the accident. We reported the accident to USAA to repair the damage shown in the picture. Their body shop estimated $1,700 in damage. The insurance company decided to total the car. Once the insurance company totals your car, the State of Georgia will fine you for not giving the insurance company the car. Either fix it correctly in thirty days or the State of Georgia starts the fines.
Coral had to visit their body shop a second time for them to appraise the value of the car. They offered her the option to take $1,035 and give them the car. To keep the car, Coral would have to come out of pocket for an additional thousand dollars and repair the damage. Once repaired it has to pass a complete inspection to get it registered for the road again.
After two months of back and forth, they took the car with a promise of a check soon. The car worked better than anything we have owned in years. We now have to keep the money to buy the rest of the hay for the winter.
We are asking for a donation of a car or truck to replace the Nissan we just lost. If you want to help raise money for e new vehicle, please go to our web site.
